What is Vastushastra?
VASTUSHASTRA is an ancient Hindu practice to construct buildings in harmony with natural forces for
well being of humanity as a whole. It is a rich Hindu philosophy, which is given in a number of ancient works including Vedas. It is the
traditional Indian system of architecture and design of Vedic origin. Vastu means the dwelling of humans and Gods. Many Vastu rules
are derived from 'Vastu Purusha' who is depicted as a man lying with his head pointing northeast, in a grid of usually 64 squares. The
different directions and sectors are assigned to different Gods and Guardians.
Does Vastushastra brings prosperity?
Yes, Vastushastra suggests ways in which we can live in tune with the laws of nature,
so that we can be healthy, peaceful and work efficiently that results in prosperity.
Whether Vastushastra is linked to any religion?
Yes, it has been developed by Hindus, but being an art and science of
structures, it can be used and applied irrespective of the religion.
Why directions are important in Vaastu Shastra?
The Sun, as our ancester revealed long back is the only source of light and
heat for human and other living being, from where we are able to live and feel the presence and direction of object. Therefore, the Sun,
rising Sun is like a god, who gives us our essentials to live in, and the direction from where it is apparant to the entire world is taken as
reference as the EAST direction. So the East direction is considered to the pious direction from where we get our main essentials. If
we face the rising sun, the facing direction is called East, behined us shall be West, our left hand denotes North direction and right
hand denotes South direction, therefore, the effect of the direction leads to its result to the building / house constructed therein.
How does Vastu Shastra help us?
Nature consists of five basic elements. Your own body is made up of these elements: (1) air
(You breath air) (2) fire ( your body temperature) (3) water (4) earth( Your body's minerals) (5) and most importantly Cosmic energy (
energy of planets). When we synchronize our place of business and residence with nature's energies, our personal location becomes a
dynamic location, in order for nature to release positive energy to benefit us. Otherwise, those energies fight within each other thus
creating an astronomical amount of static and tension in your place of business or home. The result is one of which there are more
arguments, more staff turnover, workers' unrest, more accidents, customer dissatisfaction, legal problems and so on.
When is the best time to adopt Vaastu?
While selecting plots and while the design of the house is still on the drawing board. At
this time it is very easy to incorporate all Vaastu norms without sacrificing aesthetics, comforts or economy of construction.
Can facing of main door be decided?
Yes, the zodiac sign of the owner of the house, on whose name the deed of house is
made can be taken as reference, and according to zodiac sign of the owner main door can be fixed. But since the houses are used
generation after generation and in every generation the owner of house is changed the main door if fitted as per the location of plot and
road abutting according to Vaastu Shastra then only it may be considered auspicious.
What are the effects on a tenant?
The question of ownership does not arise. Whoever occupies and stays in the building is the recipient of the effect.
How long does it normally take to notice the benefits of Vastu Shastra?
Normally, it takes one month to six months. It also depends on
the amount of rectification recommended applied, the percentage of defects, topography, as well as strengths of your Vedic
horoscope.
Do you recommend structural changes if the place is already built?
At the initial stage, we start with minimum or no structural rectifications. Once you see the
benefits and advantages, then it is up to you as to how far you want to go in order to receive the maximum benefits of Vastu Shastra.
Are all houses situated in front of a T-junctions are bad and why?
Generally speaking, one should avoid a building in front of a T-junction. In comparison
a house in front of a T-junction in the South or West direction has more bad effects than the one facing North or East direction. The
harsh energy due to the traffic on the road entering directly into the premises results in a tense and negative environment.
What is the most negative Vaastu flaw in a house?
A underground water tank in the Southwest area of a house is the most
negative and major flaw in Vaastu. This leads to the defects represented by the 3 D's: Debts, Delays and Disharmony in the family.
